About Our Church PDF Print E-mail
Our congregation was born in 1833 out of the radical heresy of Rev. Theodore Clapp, that God loves all humanity. Our History The earliest days of our congregation found our ministers and members deeply involved in civic life, in issues of equity and justice, and this tradition carries through today.  Through the programs of the Center for Ethical Living, the church’s Social Justice Team, and the individual efforts of our members and friends, we work together to make this city and this world a better place.  For more information, click here for links to some of our social justice activities.

Children and young people are important to us; they are the future of our world.  We are honored when parents bring their precious children to us for religious nurture and ethical training, and we are proud of our Nursery, Sunday School, and Youth Group.  Click Here for more information on our Religious Education Program.

I’m eager to meet you to welcome you to First Unitarian Universalist Church of New Orleans.  Click here to email me directly to make an appointment or to ask a question.

Join us for Worship on Sundays and stay for coffee and conversation afterwards.  You’ll be glad you did – and so will we!

In faith,
Rev. Melanie
